Kemp House Speech

 Kemp House

Kia ora My name is Marshall, I am going to tell you my speech about the kemp house in KeriKeri Bay Of Islands.

The Kemp house is the oldest house that is standing in New Zealand along with the stone building. This is located in Kerikeri north island. The house is around 200 years old and was built by a guy named John gare butler. The house was built to be a storehouse for the Church Missionary Society in 1832 - 1836.

Well this was fun, I had a lot of fun researching about this extraordinary landmark in new zealand. That's all I have today and I would like to tell you another one some other time. thank you for listening and ka kite.

How lockdown is for me

Lock down is actually okay for me because i'm in my own space, I'm comfortable working at home and I feel safer than I do at school. Lock down for some people is like jail but for me its like living a dream. I'm now spending more time with my siblings and more time with my family, but the sad thing is my cousin lives down in taranaki and he cant come visit because of the borders wouldn't let them in. I haven't seen my cousin in 2 years so I was hoping for a dream come true and for him to come up some day.

Breakfast

In the morning I had pancakes for breakfast. I didn't really make it it was the ones in the bottles so I used that to make my pancakes. It didn't really turn out how I wanted it to look but it was still delicious. While it was cooking I left it to bubble and went to go play with my little nephew. when I got back to my pancakes there was a lot of bubbles that had popped and my pancake looked hideous. I flipped it and it was golden brown. I cooked about 5 my last pancake was the size of the pan. After I finished cooking I put golden syrup and started to clean. after I did that, that's when I had my first bite of that pancake. it was soo goood the syrup was drizzling out of the pancake.

Mathamatics

This week for maths our problem was: Miriama is making 'ei katu. 1/4 of the 'ei katu has pink flowers, 1/5 of it has yellow flowers, 20% of it has white flowers and the rest of the 'ei katu is made up of leaves.

How we solved it:

1/4 = 25%

1/5 = 25%      = 100%

1/5 = 25%

25% + 20% + 20% = 65%

We needed a way to make 65% to 100%. So we calculated how many more numbers we needed to make 100% and it was 35%. We needed 35% more to make 100%.

so we did 65% + 35% = 100%

35% are leaves

65% are flowers.

Architecture

W.A.L.T.: We are learning to create accurate floor plans for building a house
We used floorplancreator. net to do this.
Here are my floor plans

What I learnt from doing this activity is
* How to make a 3D/2D house
*Measurement
*How to calculate square meters

When I grow up, If I join the building industry, I would like to be a engineer. Because. My granddad was an engineer and he taught my dad and I think my dads going to teach me and i'm going to teach my kids when i'm a dad.
